I have a Xamarin Forms project working with iOS and Android. Nothing special, some tabbed pages, and lots of navigation.
Testing in:
iOS -> Iphone 6.
Android -> Samsung Galaxy S6
I'm having some performance issues with Android and I was wondering what should I check to fix or have in mind to improve overall performance, or what might be the general problem, here are some examples:
- After sending the App to background and then resuming, the delay on Android is huge. On Android takes 4 secs to reopen, while on iOS, it's instantly.
(No matter which point on the app i'm in, in some android phones, I even have to tap twice.) - Navigation from master to detail, Android takes around 1-2 second more than iOS to display.
- Tabbed page that loads a complete ListView. While in iOS I can switch almost instantly to the selected tab; Android takes around 3 seconds more to switch between tabs.
- General navigation from page to page is slower in Android and overall performance is slower on Android.
So? What could it be?, given that both smartphones have great performance stats and Samsung Galaxy S6 has better ones than Iphone 6, Allegedly.
I have tested on different smartphones, like, iphone 4s and Motorola Razr i, and Android performance drops exponentially.
